Taj Smith brings over 25 years of experience in Washington County. As a proud mother of three, she is also the owner of The Advocate Junkie, where she provides a DDA Support Broker, Grant Writing, Paralegal, Notary, and Advocacy services. Taj has experience in case management for individuals with developmental disabilities. Her background in education includes past experience as a Special Education Paraprofessional for Washington County Public Schools and as a Home-based Teacher/Family Service Worker with Head Start of Washington County.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Taj is actively involved in her community. She currently serves as the President of the Washington County NAACP, is a board member for Friends of Halfway African-American Cemetery, as well as a member of the Washington County Democratic Central Committee. Taj previously served on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Washington County. She is passionate about advocating for meaningful change in areas of injustice. Taj believes that access to information, resources, and civic engagement is a catalyst for creating change, and she looks forward to collaborating with others to keep the community informed and engaged.
