Dottie Gruhler
In addition to being the founder and Chairperson of Rising to Learn Inc., Dottie Gruhler is a Registered Behavior Technician with WCPS and the founder of the WC Parents Facebook page, the largest online parent community in Washington County, which has served the community for over a decade. With a diverse background that spans restaurant and retail management, running an online women’s network, and being featured in Entrepreneur Startup Magazine for an innovative chat platform, Dottie brings a wealth of experience to her work.
A proud resident of Smithsburg for 21 years, Dottie lives with her husband and has three amazing children. She was an active member of the Smithsburg Days committee for several years and has dedicated 14 years to WCPS, from substitute to her current position. Dottie is currently serving as co-chair for the Student Behavior Support Committee for SECAC. She has received nominations for the ESP of the Year Award, and was honored as one of the first recipients of The WCPS Golden Compass Award. She had served for several years as the PTA president at both the elementary and middle school levels.
Above all, Dottie is passionate about working with the students of Washington County, which she considers the most rewarding part of her career.
